Montana Federal Judge’s Ruling in Keystone XL Impacts Permian Highway Pipeline

WIMBERLEY, TX Yesterday, Montana Federal Judge Brian Morris reaffirmed his decision vacating the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Nationwide Permit 12 (NWP 12) in the Keystone XL pipeline case. His decision continued a previous ruling that removed this administrative device that allows for pipeline construction across waterways without the necessity of individual permit review by the Corps. Montana Court Revokes Nationwide Permit 12 Under Endangered Species Act Permian Highway Pipeline Permit Now In Question

WIMBERLEY, TX On April 15 chief federal Judge Brian Morris of the Montana District issued an opinion that revoked the permit under which the Keystone XL oil pipeline is being constructed for violation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Water Samples from Homes Near Construction Blunder Were Found to Contain Trace Metal Levels that Exceed EPA Drinking Water Standards

WIMBERLEY, TX Three days following the March 28 underground loss of 36,000 gallons of drilling fluid during construction of the Permian Highway Pipeline in Blanco County, two affected homeowners captured well samples of their chocolate-colored drinking water and had the samples delivered to LCRA Environmental Laboratory Services in Austin for testing and analyses.
