The Trinity and Edwards Aquifers are under siege.

The springs and creeks which emanate from this natural resource and the property rights of landowners are at risk.

Water developers (Electro Purification, Needmore) are asking for large volume permits from an aquifer where groundwater pumping already occurs at an unsustainable rate. And as this region grows, we know more groundwater development projects are in the works.

Kinder Morgan’s Permian Highway Pipeline poses another threat -- to the quality of our pristine aquifer and the sole source of drinking water to many thousands of Central Texans.

TESPA was formed as an organization to respond to these threats. We take legal action when its required to protect the aquifers, springs, creeks, and property rights of landowners. We advocate for policy changes to ensure that groundwater in Texas is sustainably managed and landowners' property rights are protected.

Our donors and members are citizens and landowners who understand the precious nature of this resource and its vital importance to the ecology and economy of the Hill Country.

Learn about our work and join us in the battle for our water!

Are You Ready for the Texas Hill Country Exchange?

TESPA is proposing to join with the Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance (GEAA) to develop the Texas Hill Country Exchange (TXHCX).  TXHCX is a system that will use funds donated by those wanting to offset their carbon footprint to pay landowners for owning, restoring and maintaining ecological systems.  Similarly, those wanting to protect spring and river flows and endangered species will have a similar opportunity.
